<!--StartFragment-->Duany Presents
On Tuesday May 13, a public meeting was held under the tent of the Southlands site where a few hundred people gathered to see and hear the results of an intensive 10 day design Charrette.
Just over a week ago, ten initial drawings were created based on a year and half of input from the Southlands Community Planning Team(SCPT) and their Design Brief.
As wildlife experts, agrologists, sustainability experts and farmers added their input during the week, the drawings evolved to the point where two of them were presented as the final drawings.
The large crowd gave Andres Duany and his DPZ team a loud ovation on completion of the presentation.
The descriptions of the envisioned community were stunningly detailed and simply beautiful.
In about six weeks time, full detail from the presentation complete with full illustrations will come back to the SCPT at which point many of the of the aspects of the project will be posted to this website along with explanatory notes, environmental assessments and a full range of FAQ’s. If you missed the event you can catch up HERE. You can contact the SCPT here
The Southlands Community Planning Team thanks all of those who took the time to come and participate in the public sessions and to those who took the time to offer commentary on the proceedings and in this web forum. Stay Tuned!!
